Au pair insurance for abroad
If you enjoy working with children and you want to learn a new language quickly, then there is no better way to do this than to work as an au pair. Before you leave, you will have probably researched the language, looked for games to play with the children and investigated things to see and do in the area. These are all logical issues to consider when you leave to work as an au pair.
But something you probably have forgotten about is purchasing insurance, and that is something you may need while you are away. OOM Verzekeringen offers an au pair insurance that covers medical expenses abroad: the Young Global Traveler Health Insurance. In addition to a good health insurance, you may also need household contents, travel or third party insurance. These are all available in the Young Global Traveler Insurance Package.
Not merely a health insurance
The Young Global Traveler Health Insurance from OOM Verzekeringen is not your standard health insurance. This insurance takes into consideration the fact that you will be abroad for an extended period. In addition to emergency medical aid (such as hospitalisation or medical examination), we also, for instance, provide compensation for non-urgent treatment abroad, such as physiotherapy, and under the extensive coverage policy, alternative medicine. If local medical treatment is unavailable and it is not possible to receive treatment at a later time, we also provide compensation for the costs of travel to your country of origin, or to the closest place where treatment is available.
A summary of our policy terms and conditions is available in the coverage summary as well as the specifications of the coverage.
