Vaccinations against rabies and tetanus

The OOM Living Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for a longer or permanent stay abroad.

You will receive reimbursement for rabies and tetanus vaccinations if:

  • you have been bitten, scratched or licked by an animal that may be infected with rabies
  • you risk tetanus infection following a wound and preventative vaccinations do not offer sufficient protection

With the OOM Living Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €250, €500 or €1,000. If you have opted for an excess and you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you then pay the first part of these costs yourself.

You are bitten by a dog that may have rabies. You receive a rabies vaccination. The costs are €25. If you have no excess, you will receive a reimbursement for the total costs.

You can claim your medical expenses quickly and easily via My OOM.
