Preventative testing for cervical cancer

The OOM Living Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for a longer or permanent stay abroad.

Whether you get reimbursement for preventive testing for cervical cancer depends on the cover you have chosen:

  • Regular cover: no reimbursement
  • Comfort and DeLuxe cover: women aged 21 and above will receive reimbursement for a cervical smear once every 5 years.

With the OOM Living Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €250, €500 or €1,000. If you have opted for an excess and you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you then pay the first part of these costs yourself.

You are 35 years old and have a cervical smear done by the General Practitioner. The costs are €45. If you have Comfort cover and no excess, you will receive a reimbursement if you have not claimed costs for a cervical smear during the previous 5 years.

You can claim your medical expenses quickly and easily via My OOM.
