Preventative child health care
The OOM Living Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for a longer or permanent stay abroad.
What does the insurance reimburse?
Whether you get reimbursement for preventative child health care depends on the cover you have chosen:
- Regular cover: no reimbursement
- Comfort and DeLuxe cover: the costs will be reimbursed
We will reimburse the costs of care as they are given by a child health centre in the Netherlands. This means that a doctor or nurse will follow the general development of the insured child.
Are there costs for you?
With the OOM Living Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €250, €500 or €1,000. If you have opted for an excess and you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you then pay the first part of these costs yourself.
An example
You visit a child health centre while abroad with your child for the relevant vaccinations. The costs are €165. If your child has Comfort cover and no excess, you will receive a reimbursement of the total costs if the vaccinations are included in the Vaccination Programme of the National Institute of Public Health and Environmental Protection (RIVM) or in the vaccination programme of the country you are staying in.
Please note that the terms and conditions of your insurance take precedence over the information provided here.
