Orthodontics

The OOM Living Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for a longer or permanent stay abroad.

Whether you get reimbursement for orthodontics depends on your age and the cover you have chosen:

  • Regular cover: no reimbursement
  • Comfort/Deluxe cover: up to age 21, a maximum of €1,200/€1,800 as long as you are insured with us. The maximum reimbursement and the age limit do not apply if it is for treatment due to a jaw-orthopaedic disorder. We will then reimburse the cost price.
  • DeLuxe cover: from age 21 and above we will reimburse 50% of the cost price up to a maximum of €1,000 as long as you are insured with us

With the OOM Living Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €250, €500 or €1,000. If you have opted for an excess and you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you then pay the first part of these costs yourself.

You are 25 years old and you get a brace for your upper jaw. The total costs are €1,100. If you have DeLuxe cover and no excess, you will receive a reimbursement of half the costs, €550, if you have not previously claimed costs for orthodontics.

You can claim your medical expenses quickly and easily via My OOM.
