Dental costs following an accident

The OOM Living Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for a longer or permanent stay abroad.

The maximum reimbursement for dental costs following an accident depends on the cover you have chosen:

  • Regular cover: €350
  • Comfort cover: €475
  • DeLuxe cover: €600

The maximum reimbursement applies per year insured (or period insured if you are insured for less than a year). You will receive reimbursement if:

  • the treatment is for the repair and/or improvement of the teeth
  • an authorised dentist or dental surgeon carries out the treatment

You will not receive reimbursement for dentures.

With the OOM Living Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €250, €500 or €1,000. If you have opted for an excess and you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you then pay the first part of these costs yourself.

You trip and fall on your face. A piece of your tooth breaks off. The dentist suggests putting a crown on the broken tooth. This costs €695. If you have Comfort cover and no excess, you will receive a reimbursement of €475.

You can claim your medical expenses quickly and easily via My OOM.
