OOM International change in premium and terms and conditions

From 1 January 2026, the premiums and the terms and conditions for the OOM International insurance will change.

What will be different from 1 January 2026?

In the past, we sometimes adjusted our terms and conditions or premiums during the year. We will no longer do this. From now on, all changes will take effect on 1 January - the expiry date shown on your policy sheet. For you, this means that the following amendment date will be 1 January 2026.

Where can you find this in the terms and conditions?

  • Article 3 (duration) - states that the insurance is automatically renewed for 1 year, unless you or we terminate it.
  • Article 8 (amendment clause) - states that changes take place on 1 January. This is called the expiry date. The expiry date is the date when the insurance will terminate. You can find  the expiry date on your policy sheet.
  • Article 8 (amendment clause) - states that we may only make an interim change, on a date other than the expiry date, if necessary. For example, if there would otherwise a risk to the future of our company. This is in everyone's interest.

Changes in pre-authorisation

There are many healthcare providers available worldwide. You will sometimes need to ask us for authorisation before undergoing treatment.
This will be easier in the following countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.

From 1 January 2026, you will only need to request pre-authorisation in these countries for:

  • Admission to a hospital (in-patient)
  • Day admission (day-care)

Our website contains a clear overview per country of when pre-authorisation is required.

This page explains how pre-authorisation will work from 1 January 2026.
