Repatriation on medical grounds

In case of repatriation (return to the Netherlands) on medical grounds the following applies:

  • Immediately call the alarm centre (telephone: +31 (0)70 353 21 35). Are you in the US? Then call OOM Assistance USA (telephone: +1 855 701 2029).  
  • If the repatriation is covered, the emergency centre/OOM Assistance USA will organise the return to the Netherlands and handle the payment.
  • You will receive a first response within 10 working days at most, but we generally respond much more quickly.

Transport of a deceased

In case a deceased insured person needs transporting to the Netherlands the following applies:

  • Immediately call the alarm centre (telephone: +31 (0)70 353 21 35). Was the deceased insured person in the US? Then call OOM Assistance USA (telephone: +1 855 701 2029).  
  • If the transportation is covered, the emergency centre/OOM Assistance USA will organise the transport and handle the payment.
  • If the costs are the result of an accident involving another party, you also need to fill in the Accident report form (pdf).
  • You will receive a first response within 10 working days at most, but we generally respond much more quickly.

Search, rescue or recover

In case an insured person needs searching for, rescuing or recovering the following applies:

  • Immediately call the emergency center (telephone:+31 (0)70 353 21 35). Is the insured person in the US? Then call OOM Assistance USA (telephone: +1 855 701 2029).
  • Also send the emergency centre/OOM Assistance USA a written statement from the official institution which instigated the search, rescue or recovery operation. Remember to note your policy number. 
  • If the search, rescue or recovery is covered, then the emergency centre/OOM Assistance USA will handle the payment.
  • If the costs are the result of an accident involving another party, you also need to fill in the Accident report form (pdf).
  • You will receive a first response within 10 working days at most, but we generally respond much more quickly.
