Reporting SOS costs
1. Repatriation on medical grounds
If you need repatriation on medical grounds, contact our Assistance Centre immediately to report your situation. Below you’ll find the steps for how to do this.
- Call our Assistance Centre immediately on +31 (0)70 353 21 35.
- If your repatriation is covered, the Assistance Centre will take care of your return and the associated costs.
2. Transportation in the event of death
In the tragic event that an insured person has passed away and their mortal remains need to be transported to the Netherlands or the country of origin, please take into account the following when claiming SOS costs:
- Call our Assistance Centre immediately on +31 (0)70 353 21 35.
- If the transport is covered, the Assistance Centre will take care of this and the payment of the costs.
3. Search, rescue and recovery
In the case of an emergency where search, rescue and recovery of the insured person are necessary, please follow these guidelines:
- Call our Assistance Centre immediately on +31 (0)70 353 21 35.
- Send a written statement from the official institution that organised the search, rescue and recovery to the Assistance Centre, stating your policy number.
- If the search, rescue and recovery is covered under your insurance, the Assistance Centre will take care of the payment.
4. What’s important to note when claiming SOS costs?
- Make sure you have your policy number ready when you contact the Assistance Centre. You’ll find your policy number in My OOM or on your insurance card.
- If the costs are covered, we’ll reimburse the amount remaining after deducting your own risk excess.
- If the costs are the result of an accident involving another party, fill in the Accident Report Form (pdf) as well.
