Submit a claim under your Travel insurance

1. If your luggage is lost, stolen or damaged

If your luggage is damaged or lost during your trip, under your OOM Travel insurance we’ll help you quickly and effectively. Follow these steps:

  • Report the damage or loss to the local police as soon as possible. If this isn’t possible, ask for a statement from an authorised body, e.g. your travel guide or hotel management. If the claim involves damage or loss during transport, report this immediately to the transporter and ask for written proof of your report.
  • Also inform us of the damage or loss as soon as possible by phoning +31 (0)70 353 21 25 or by sending an email. State your policy number, so we can help you as quickly as possible.
  • You can submit your claim easily via My OOM. We no longer use paper claim forms. Submitting your claim digitally is quicker, safer and clearer.

2. OOM Travel insurance ensures you return home

If you unexpectedly have to return home due to illness, the death of a close family member or damage to your home, household contents or business, OOM Travel insurance ensures you receive help quickly.

  • Contact us as soon as possible. Call the ANWB emergency center at +31 (0)70 353 21 40. State your policy number, for faster processing.
  • If the costs are covered by your Travel insurance, the emergency centre will organise your return and arrange immediate payment.
  • If you’ve already paid the costs yourself, don’t worry. If these are covered by your OOM Travel insurance, you can submit a claim easily via My OOM. This is quick, safe and clear.

3. What to watch out for with your OOM Travel insurance

  • Make sure you have your policy number ready when you call the Assistence Centre. You will find your policy number in My OOM or on your insurance card.
  • If the costs are covered, we'll reimburse the amount remaining after deducting your own risk excess.
  • If something has gone wrong, or if you have a complaint about your OOM Travel insurance, please read our complaints procedure and see how we can resolve this together.
