Physiotherapy

The OOM Studying in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance for foreign young people who come to the Netherlands as a student, intern or au pair.

Whether you get reimbursement for a number of physiotherapy and remedial therapy sessions depends on the cover you have chosen:

  • standard cover: a maximum of 12 sessions
  • extended cover: a maximum of 25 sessions

The maximum number of sessions is valid per year insured (or period insured if you are insured for less than a year).

The maximum of number treatments applies to physiotherapy and remedial therapy combined. If you have standard cover, for example, and you have already had 4 sessions, you are entitled to a maximum of 8 physiotherapy sessions in the same year insured.

With the OOM Studying in the Netherlands Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €150. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance and you have opted for an excess of €150, you then pay for the first part of the costs yourself.

You stumble and develop pain in your knee. You go to a physiotherapist and have 7 sessions. The total costs are €280. If you have an excess of €150, you will receive a reimbursement of €130.
