Heredity test
The OOM Studying in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance for foreign young people who come to the Netherlands as a student, intern or au pair.
What does the insurance reimburse?
Whether you get reimbursement for a heredity test depends on the cover you have chosen:
- standard cover: no reimbursement
- extended cover: all costs will be reimbursed
We will reimburse the costs if you have received prior permission from our medical advisor.
Are there costs for you?
With the OOM Studying in the Netherlands Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €150. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance and you have opted for an excess of €150, you then pay for the first part of the costs yourself.
An example
During your stay in the Netherlands both your sister and father develop a heart condition. You would like to know if the condition is hereditary. A doctor suggests taking a heredity test. The costs are €895. If you have extended cover and an excess of €150, you will receive a reimbursement of €745 if you have received prior permission from our medical advisor.
