Dutch national health insurance is mandatory health insurance if you live and work in the Netherlands.
As a foreign student you will probably not fall under the Dutch national health insurance, unless you have a job and pay tax and social premiums in the Netherlands.
If you come to work as an au pair in the Netherlands, you may have to take out Dutch national health insurance.
