Transport of mortal remains
The OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance if you are staying in the Netherlands for a longer period of time but are not (yet) eligible for Dutch national health insurance.
What does the insurance reimburse?
On death, we will reimburse (up to a maximum of €10,000) the costs of:
- direct transport of the mortal remains to the country of origin and other transport costs
- a prescribed inner coffin
Are there costs for you?
An excess applies to OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you pay the first part of these costs yourself. Per period insured your excess is €200.
An example
Your foreign cousin, aged 53, dies in an accident during his stay in the Netherlands. He was insured with us on an OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. The transport costs of the mortal remains to the country of origin are €1,695. The excess is €200. We will reimburse €1,495.
