The OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance if you are staying in the Netherlands for a longer period of time but are not (yet) eligible for Dutch national health insurance.
What does the insurance reimburse?
Your insurance is valid in Europe, the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, Algeria, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey. If you stay temporarily (not longer than 30 days) in one of these areas or countries, you will get a reimbursement for repatriation costs (return to your country of origin) or evacuation to the Netherlands if:
- medical treatment in the country where you are staying is impossible
- the treatment cannot be postponed
- you have received prior permission from our medical advisor
The insurance does not apply in your country of origin.
You will receive reimbursement (up to a maximum of €30,000) for:
- medical transport
- ambulance aeroplane if this saves your life or prevents and/or decreases invalidity
- supervision, if this is medically necessary
Are there costs for you?
An excess applies to OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you pay the first part of these costs yourself. Per period insured your excess is €250.
You go to Morocco for a few days within the duration of your insurance. You are involved in a car accident while you are there. You have to be operated on immediately, but this is not possible locally. You receive permission from our medical advisor to be transported by ambulance and aeroplane to the Netherlands to be operated on here. The costs are €2,250. You have an excess of €250. You receive a reimbursement of €2,000.
