Medical transport

The OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance if you are staying in the Netherlands for a longer period of time but are not (yet) eligible for Dutch national health insurance.

You will receive reimbursement for seated medical transport if there is a medical necessity. The transport must be directly prior to your visit to a General Practitioner, specialist or hospital.

We will reimburse:

  • public transport according to the lowest class tariff
  • the taxi fare
  • a maximum of €0.20 per kilometer if you travel in your own vehicle

Different cover applies to are transported by ambulance.

An excess applies to OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you pay the first part of these costs yourself. Per period insured your excess is €200.

You have to go to a hospital that is 100 kilometres from your place of residence 5 times for dialysis. You travel 2nd class by train. This costs a total of €175. If you have no excess left, you will receive reimbursement for the total costs.
