Dental costs following an accident

The OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance if you are staying in the Netherlands for a longer period of time but are not (yet) eligible for Dutch national health insurance.

You will receive reimbursement for dental costs following an accident if:

  • the treatment is for the repair and/or improvement of the teeth
  • an authorised dentist or dental surgeon carries out the treatment

You will get reimbursement up to a maximum of €350 within the duration of your insurance.

You will not receive reimbursement for dentures.

If you have supplementary OOM Dental Cover, you may also receive reimbursement for dentist costs which were not the result of an accident.

An excess applies to OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you pay the first part of these costs yourself. Per period insured your excess is €200.

You trip and fall on your face. A piece of your tooth breaks off. The dentist suggests putting a crown on the broken tooth. This costs €695. If you have no excess left, you will receive €350 reimbursement.

You can claim your medical expenses quickly and easily via My OOM.
