Accommodation costs
The OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance is a medical insurance if you are staying in the Netherlands for a longer period of time but are not (yet) eligible for Dutch national health insurance.
What does the insurance reimburse?
You will receive reimbursement for accommodation costs if:
- you get medical treatment outside your place of residence
- it is medically necessary that you stay near the hospital
- you stay in a hotel, motel or apartment alone or with your partner
- you can prove your accommodation costs with invoices from the hotel, motel or apartment
You will receive reimbursement for overnight stays up to a maximum of €100 per day and per incident.
Are there costs for you?
An excess applies to OOM Provisional Residence in the Netherlands Insurance. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance, you pay the first part of these costs yourself. Per period insured your excess is €200.
An example
You have to go for an operation to a hospital which is 150 kilometres from your place of residence. After the operation, you have to go to the same hospital every day for treatment and a check-up. You book a hotel and stay 7 nights. The total costs are €665. You have an excess of €200. You receive a reimbursement of €465.
