Changes to the terms and conditions 2025

If the policyholder dies, the next of kin must notify us. We will then discuss with the next of kin if and how the insurance can be continued. 

The insurance does not provide cover in countries prohibited by the Sanctions Act. We now also explain more clearly that we will not reimburse claims or that we may suspend cover if the policyholder or another insured person is found to be involved in acts that contravene the Sanctions Act, or if they are on a national or international sanctions list. This also applies to insured items or other stakeholders. If this is the case, we: 

It has been made clearer that any bank charges are not included in the premium, and may be charged separately.

It has been explained more clearly that we will not reimburse claims, or will temporarily stop the insurance if after the start of the insurance it is apparent that the policyholder, an insured person, an insured item or another interested party is directly or indirectly involved in acts, transactions or events that violate the Sanctions Act. If this is the case, we will not reimburse any claim, or we will temporarily or permanently suspend cover, the general or financial interests of a person, company, government or other entity will be excluded from the insurance, or we can terminate the insurance. 

If your child is added to the policy, it is now more clearly stated that your child has the same cover and own risk excess as you; 

It is described more clearly that exclusion for over-the-counter medicines also applies when these are prescribed by a doctor; 

The situations for which examinations and medical declarations are excluded, e.g. as part of a job application, driving licence or for participating in a particular sport, have been specified more clearly.  

For physiotherapy, manual therapy, exercise therapy or chiropractic treatment, it has been clarified that when making a reimbursement, we look at the first submitted treatments per year; 

For post-accident dentistry, the situations that are reimbursed are now more clearly defined: “An accident is defined as: A sudden and direct external assault causing you physical injury capable of being identified by medical means. Events where one can foresee that dental damage may occur are not included in this definition. Examples include, but are not limited to: opening a bottle with the teeth; biting on something hard such as nuts; not wearing dental protection in relevant sports; damage to the teeth due to an illness.”

With OOM Dental Cover, there is clarification that a periodontist may also carry out the treatments. Wisdom teeth extraction by an oral surgeon can be claimed under the healthcare insurance. 

With the SOS insurance, it has been written more clearly that we will reimburse the following costs for repatriation and evacuation if acutely medically necessary treatment is not possible in the country where the insured person is staying, and this treatment cannot be postponed. It has also been stated more clearly that, under the cover for transporting mortal remains, the costs of washing the body, and the funeral itself are not insured.
