The OOM Studying Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for young people wanting to study, do an internship or work as an au pair abroad.
What does the insurance reimburse?
Whether you get reimbursement for a number of physiotherapy and remedial therapy sessions depends on the cover you have chosen:
- standard cover: a maximum of 12 sessions
- extended cover: a maximum of 25 sessions
The maximum number of sessions applies per year insured (or period insured if you are insured for less than a year).
The maximum of number treatments applies to physiotherapy and remedial therapy combined. If you have standard cover, for example, and you have already had 4 remedial therapy sessions, you are entitled to a maximum of 8 physiotherapy sessions in the same year insured.
Are there costs for you?
With the OOM Studying Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €150. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance and you have opted for an excess of €150, you then pay for the first part of the costs yourself.
You stumble and develop pain in your knee. You go to a physiotherapist and have 7 sessions. The total costs are €280. If you have an excess of €150, you will receive a reimbursement of €130.
