Occupational therapy
The OOM Studying Abroad Insurance is a medical insurance for young people wanting to study, do an internship or work as an au pair abroad.
What does the insurance reimburse?
You will receive reimbursement for a maximum of 10 hours of occupational therapy. This applies per year insured (or period insured if you are insured for less than a year).
The costs will be reimbursed if:
- a doctor has prescribed the occupational therapy
- the therapy is to improve or restore your independence
- treatment takes place within the occupational therapist’s normal working hours
- you have received prior permission from our medical advisor
Are there costs for you?
With the OOM Studying Abroad Insurance you can opt for no excess or an excess of €150. If you incur costs which are covered by the insurance and you have opted for an excess of €150, you then pay for the first part of the costs yourself.
An example
After undergoing hand surgery you experience problems when carrying out your daily activities. A doctor advises occupational therapy. The costs are €390. If you have an excess of €150, you will receive a reimbursement of €240 if you have received prior permission from our medical advisor.
