What differentiates OOM Verzekeringen from other insurers?
“OOM Verzekeringen is specialised in insuring increased risks. We insure risks that other insurers often don’t. Think of, for example, a mobile fast-food outlet or a beach catering establishment. In addition, we also provide insurance for people who are going abroad, or are coming to the Netherlands, for example with health care and dental cover, or for third party liability.”
What is so special about the way OOM Verzekeringen works?
“Personal contact with our customers is very important to us. We don’t have a call centre, but a dedicated team of over 25 employees, who know and understand our customers’ files completely. They search for insurance that suites their situation. Our knowledge and experience of insuring special risks means we are able to provide a tailor-made service.”
What are the aims of OOM Verzekeringen?
“Offering continuity to customer has always been our most import aim even since we were founded in 1940. We want to insure our customers properly, now and in the future. Of course, for this we need sufficient customers, but it isn’t our ambition to become a large insurer. We offer specialist insurance. Expertise and high-quality service are at the heart of our business.”
How does OOM Verzekeringen ensure that service comes first?
“Our employees play an important role in this. They speak to our customers on a regular basis. These conversations often generate good ideas, and so inspire us to improve our products. This is one of the reasons I involve colleagues in drawing up our annual business plan.”
What do you enjoy about working at OOM Verzekeringen?
“I enjoy having so much contact with our customers, and the fact that we are always looking for solutions for them. It’s also good to receive compliments from customers. For example, a severely ill elderly man had asked his daughter to thank us after his death for all the good care he had received during the years he had been insured with us. That was really moving.”
