Three types of insurance for students, interns and au pairs abroad
Young Global Traveler Insurance is intended for students and au pairs spending short or longer periods abroad. This is a flexible insurance specially designed for students, interns and au pairs. Below, you can choose for yourself what you would like more information about:
Health insurance, SOS insurance and insurance package for abroad
With Young Global Traveler Insurance, you can choose between three types of insurance. You can decide for yourself which type of insurance to take out. There are no required combinations.

Length of term of the insurance for students, interns and au pairs
- The maximum term of the insurance is five years.
- The upper age limit for acceptance is 29.
It does not matter how long you take out the insurance for. Anything is possible from one day up to five years. We advise you not to make the term of this insurance too short. Extension of this insurance is generally not possible. You may, however, give notice on the same day that you wish to terminate the policy. Any excess premium paid will then be refunded. To give notice, you just need to send us an e-mail, fax or letter.
Young Global Traveler Insurance must expire upon your final return to the Netherlands. As far as health insurance is concerned, you will from that moment once again fall under the Dutch legal obligation to hold basic national health insurance. You can sign up for this with one of the standard health insurers of your choice in the Netherlands. We can no longer insure the other forms of coverage within Young Global Traveler Insurance once you have made your final return to the Netherlands.

We guarantee that you will receive confirmation of acceptance within two working days. In the case of health insurance, this guarantee will only apply if you do not have any existing health problems.
