If you are waiting for a residence permit, we advise that you take out the insurance policy for as long as possible (e.g. one year). From the date that the residence permit is issued, you are obliged to sign on for Dutch national health insurance. You can terminate your Global Visitor insurance policy from that date and you will receive a refund of the surplus premium.
