HomeWork abroad
I’m going to work abroad and want to be well insured
Have you been seconded abroad by your Dutch employer? Or are you a cross-border worker, taking up temporary or other employment with a foreign firm, going to do some voluntary work, development work or holiday work in another country or setting up a business elsewhere? Good preparation is essential in all these cases. You’re establishing whether you need a visa or residence permit, sorting out where you are going to live and where your children will go to school, etc. And, of course, those preparations also include taking out good insurance. OOM Verzekeringen can offer a solution for all these situations.
Will my Dutch national health insurance cover me abroad?
That differs from case to case. In order to find out, enter your information in the OOM information module. The module will show you quickly whether your Dutch national health insurance covers you abroad. Even if your Dutch national health insurance covers you abroad, one of OOM’s products can provide a supplementary insurance solution.
Which insurance suits my needs?
OOM Verzekeringen offers three types of insurance for people who are going abroad from or travelling to the Netherlands. Global Visitor Insurance is designed for people who are coming to the Netherlands and only need health insurance. Global Traveler Insurance and Young Global Traveler Insurance are flexible insurance packages that allow you to choose from no less than eight types of coverage, namely medical expenses, SOS, third party, travel, cancellation, household contents, legal assistance and personal accident insurance.
By entering your data in the decision module on this page, you will immediately see which product is best suited to your needs.
